Did the CIA trade Viagra for intel?

Viagra. Its usefulness extends beyond what you had imagined.

CIA operatives in Afghanistan may be buying favors from local leaders using the erection-boosting drug Viagra, the Washington Post reports. A tribal patriarch described in the Post story was happy to provide info about Taliban trade routes to intel officers in exchange for the little blue pills.

“Whatever it takes to make friends and influence people—whether it’s building a school or handing out Viagra,” a CIA operative told the paper. Another CIA source was careful to point out that the agency only uses tactics “consistent with the laws of our country.”

“What are you doing here?”: man asks wife at brothel

WARSAW (Reuters) – A Polish man got the shock of his life when he visited a brothel and spotted his wife among the establishment’s employees.

Polish tabloid Super Express said the woman had been making some extra money on the side while telling her husband she worked at a store in a nearby town.

“I was dumbfounded. I thought I was dreaming,” the husband told the newspaper on Wednesday.

The couple, married for 14 years, are now divorcing, the newspaper reported.

A love story for Xmas

What a heartwarming story.

Mildred Loving died this year. It was she and her husband whose Supreme Court case overturned state laws against mixed-race marriage: “The freedom to marry has long been recognized as one of the vital personal rights essential to the orderly pursuit of happiness by free men.”

Mrs. Loving was asked in 2007, the 40th anniversary of Loving v. Virginia, to lend her support to gay marriage.

On her own, she talked to her neighbors about the request; she talked to her children about it. And in the end, Loving told Etienne, yes, she would allow the group to read a statement in her name supporting gay marriage at the commemoration. “Are you sure you understand what you’re saying?” Etienne asked. “You understand that you’re putting your name behind the idea that two men or two women should have the right to marry each other?”

“I understand it,” Loving said, “and I believe it.”

Sometimes I need to be reminded that not all Christians are wicked.
